We seek a creative, skilled teacher with prior teaching experience and a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
- Waldorf teacher training or a willingness to enroll in Waldorf teacher training upon hire
- Experience teaching at the middle school level
- An enthusiasm for working with adolescents
Professional development support includes a mentoring program, funding assistance for continued Waldorf training, and an environment of colleagues who love teaching, work together in a collaborative manner and enjoy warm relationships with parents.
AWS supports self-initiative in their teachers and encourages them to work out of inner convictions within the Waldorf curriculum and in preparation for the transitions our students make at the end of the 8th grade.
The position is 12-hour weeks involves teaching nine 45-minute periods per week, four homework help sessions, planning periods, and duty periods. Additionally, there are weekly meetings and work days. Faculty work days are at the end of August 2019 and mid-June 2020. School begins in September 2019 and ends in June 2020.
This is a part-time, salaried, school year position with a salary of $20,000. Compensation begins July 2019. Benefits include prorated tuition remission.
