The areas immediately surrounding the school, known locally as the Southtowns, showcase the best that this part of the world has to offer in all seasons: terrific summer weather, glorious fall foliage, winter adventures such as downhill and cross-country skiing, and farmers markets bursting with spring flowers. There is always plenty to do without venturing too far, whether it’s catching some local music in Hamburg or dining out in the historic town of East Aurora.
The City of Buffalo is home to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, State University of New York at Buffalo, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, high-quality professional theatre, a wealth of historic architecture, and more. The Bills, Sabres, Bisons, and Bandits provide sports entertainment year-round. Nicknamed the City of Good Neighbors, Buffalo is most famous (after our wings, of course!) for the warmth and friendliness of its people. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Erie, about 320 miles/500 km from New York City and about 100 miles/150 km from Toronto.
The entire area boasts a low cost for a high standard of living across the board and is a great place to live and raise a family.
