Western New York, especially Buffalo and the Southtowns area where Aurora Waldorf School is located, has everything!
Terrific summer weather for Great Lakes boating and swimming, hiking in glorious fall foliage, winter adventures such as downhill and cross-country skiing, and farmers markets bursting with produce and flowers. There is always plenty to do without venturing too far, whether it’s catching some local craft beer and music in Hamburg or exploring the unique shopping and dining opportunities in the historic village of East Aurora, home of the Roycroft Campus and the Arts and Crafts movement.
The City of Buffalo is home to the world-renowned Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, State University of New York at Buffalo, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, high-quality professional theatre, a wealth of historic architecture including the Darwin Martin House, Graycliff, and more. The Bills, Sabres, Bisons, and Bandits provide sports entertainment year-round. Nicknamed the City of Good Neighbors, Buffalo is most famous (after our wings, of course!) for the warmth and friendliness of its people. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Erie, about 320 miles/500 km from New York City and about 100 miles/150 km from Toronto.
Western New York boasts a low cost for a high standard of living across the board, and is a great place to raise a family.
