Please join us for the AWS Community Potluck!
A celebration of community and 100 years of Waldorf Education
When: 5:30-7:30 pm on August 29th
Where: Aurora Waldorf School
Potluck details: A dish to pass (See details below)
In recognition of diversity within our community, please bring a PEANUT-FREE dish (enough to serve 15-25 people) that is meaningful to your family. It could be a recipe that has been passed down for generations, something new that you want to make, a dish that represents your ethnic heritage, or a favorite dish made by Grandmother Wegmans (or Tops). All dishes are welcome and celebrated.
Food set up is at 5:30 behind the school by the circle of benches area. Families will eat together picnic-style. Please bring a picnic blanket and/or lawn chairs and plan to supervise your children during the event.
Zero-waste - We are hoping to make this is a zero-waste event. Please bring your own table service dishes for your family. There will be compost bin for scraps, a dish-washing area and in the spirit of zero waste, we kindly ask that dishes are not wrapped in plastic wrap. A dishtowel works just fine!
What’s the Occasion: September 19, 2019, Waldorf Education will proudly mark its 100th anniversary. Through June 2020, Waldorf schools and communities around the world celebrate this anniversary through social and environmental impact projects. These campaigns aim to stimulate dialogue around human values in education and support initiatives that revitalize society and our relationship with our earth. In addition to the community potluck, AWS is participating in the Waldorf100 Postcard Project and Windows into Waldorf.
RSVP: Please RSVP with the link below no later than August 27th with who will be attending and what dish you plan to bring. If you have any problems with the link, please call the Office at 655-2025 for help.
