The AWS Reopening Plan for NYS describes how we will meet the requirements outlined in the guidance for independent schools provided by the NY State Department of Health and the NY State Department of Education.
We anticipate that the future updates to the guidelines from the State will cause us to revise this document, and to that end, we will maintain updated copies on our school website.

The AWS faculty, staff, and leadership groups continue to meet with earnest intention, as we imagine and creatively plan for the 2020-21 school year. Dear AWS Community,
We stand in solidarity with Black and Brown people, and those forced to contend with the trauma of injustice, hatred, and oppression. We see color and recognize that both personal and systemic change is the only way to stop the violence and brutality that has permeated our society for far too long. AWS is committed to addressing the growth of our collective consciousness in working to dismantle systems that perpetuate inequality. We will continue to improve our work with students to best carry out our mission: “Providing a place where children love to learn, educating children for all aspects of life, and fostering capacities within to become successful, self-assured adults who contribute to a better world.”

Kathleen Bowen, our presenter at the previous two Awakening Connections workshops offered at AWS, has graciously agreed to facilitate an online opportunity for us to connect with one another and process what our experiences have been over the last two months.
How are you experiencing this time?
This is open to faculty, parents, staff, administration, and board members - the whole community! By setting aside the various hats you wear, you will have the opportunity to meet, as fellow human beings.

This is the best recipe for scones I’ve ever made in my 20 yrs of kitchen experience. They are simple, quick, and oh so versatile. You can make them savory or sweet. Experiment, have fun, I’ve yet to be disappointed with this one and have been making it regular since 2004. Happy baking everyone!
