Aurora Waldorf School's annual Winter Faire is Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The Faire is open to the public with a low $6 per person admission and plenty of free parking available. Children ages 16 and under will receive six activity tickets with their admission. Activities range from 1-6 tickets, with additional activity tickets for $1 each.
“Winter Faire showcases all of the beautiful aspects of Aurora Waldorf School and highlights them in a magical way,” notes Faire co-chair Stacey Nazitto. “People from across WNY attend to make the most of winter with a dose of simple and pure fun.”
This year’s Winter Faire will have a host of activities, including horse-drawn carriage rides, wreath decorating, silk scarf dying and a mini Science Fair. There will be live musical entertainment by Barb & the Ukulele Band Holiday Sing-Along, as well as various other student and alumni performers. “Jack Frost” and the “Winter Fairy” will be merrymaking throughout the school’s festooned hallways.
Returning to Winter Faire are the ever-popular cupcake walk, children’s handcrafts, jump rope making, a puppet show (“The Elves and the Shoemaker”) and storytelling in The Enchanted Castle. Messinger Woods Wildlife Care and Rehabilitation Center will have live owls and birds on site.
A full range of delicious foods, created by the school’s in-house chef and modeled after the award-winning lunch program, will also be available to those attending the Winter Faire. Specialties include homemade chicken fricassee with a biscuit, mac and cheese and hearty chili and cornbread, with take-home quarts available for purchase.
